FAQ

These are some of the questions I frequently
get asked, if you have another question please don’t
hesitate to contact me.

Do I need to bring outfits for a newborn session?

It is unnecessary to bring outfits for your newborn to wear. I have a wide selection of wraps and hand knitted outfits which can be used. Ordinary newborn clothes tend to swamp baby resulting in unflattering results.

Why is the newborn session 3-4 hours long?

I always leave a four hour slot for my newborn sessions so that you can get the most out of the session. This allows time for settling and feeding without any rushing. All babies are different and need dedicated time to adjust to their surroundings. Take this time sit back and relax whilst I photograph your beautiful baby.

What if my baby doesn’t settle in the session?

On the rare occasion that a baby doesn’t settle, we will rearrange for you to come back a few days later. This is very rare and usually has a reason behind it, ie. feeling unwell or cluster feeding.

What is the best age for the baby to be photographed?

For newborn babies the golden age is 5-14 days for those beautiful curly poses. The older the newborn the less likely they will curl up and will often be more awake. Older newborns can also achieve beautiful images but set ups and poses will be different so please bear this in mind when booking. For breastfed babies I like to photograph them around day 9, just to make sure feeding has established well.

Can I bring someone with me to the newborn photo shoot?

Yes of course you can bring your partner or friend along with you. I have a max limit of 2 people due to size and space of studio. Adults only during newborn sessions unless you have siblings that are being photographed at the beginning of your session.

Can my older child(ren) be photographed with the newborn?

Yes, this can take place at the beginning of your newborn session with baby wrapped. Please arrange for a parent or relative to collect the sibling after around 45 minutes.

Can we have a parent photo with our newborn?

Yes, I can take parent images with baby wrapped at the beginning of your newborn session.

What should I wear for a parent photo?

Neutral colours are great, try and match colour or tones with your partner and avoid logos and heavy patterns.

Can I choose the props?

If you have seen a particular prop in my images and wish to use it, please let me know when you book in your specific requirements form. Otherwise I will prepare a couple setups before the shoot which can be amended to taste.

Do you do family/group sessions?

I don’t do family/group photography as a separate session due to limited space, but parents and siblings are welcome to have their photo taken with the model in a Child Portrait, Baby and Newborn sessions.

When do I receive my images?

I aim to have your images fully edited and ready within 2 weeks after your session, at busier times it may take longer but I will keep you updated.

Do you sell prints?

Yes, I offer fine art printing from Italy. This includes mounted prints, canvases, acrylics and reveal box. When you come for your session you will be able to view and handle these lovely items. There is no obligation to purchase any products.
